‘Sales of Generator Will No Longer Be Lucrative’
The immediate past managing director and chief executive of the Kaduna Electricity Distribution Company (KEDC), Mallam Idris Muhammed has said that the business of power generators will no longer be lucrative with the coming on board of power distribution companiesd.
He said that with what was in place before the new investors took over the company, lack of power supply in Kaduna and Nigeria will soon be a thing of the past.
Muhammed who was speaking to journalists at the weekend in Kaduna, said those whose business is the sale of generators should begin to think of another business as sales of generator while soon no longer be lucrative once the Kaduna power plant and the Gurara dam comes up fully.
He expressed satisfaction with his retirement, saying he is a fulfilled man having laid a very solid foundation in the KEDC which could stand the test of time.
“I have no doubt that the new investors have the capacity and will to improve on our successes but it will require patience on the part of the customers. I will continue to render my wealth of experience when called to do so in any capacity, but in the mean time I will be spending quality time with my family.
“My most challenging period is when there is no power to distribute to our customers because most of the places will be in darkness. Whenever this happens, what comes to my mind is how I can restore power to the dark areas.”
He, therefore, assured Nigerians to expect more uninterrupted power supply in the years ahead.
